About our rescue

Nature World Wildlife Rescue, Inc. is a group of dedicated volunteers committed to rescue, rehab, and release of injured or orphaned wildlife. It was established in early 1985 by the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park and Midway Animal Hospital.

Currently there are over 25 volunteers in Citrus County and outlying areas. As of 2005, the Nature World Wildlife group has rescued and treated over 10,000 wildlife cases. The goal of every wildlife case is to successfully release the animal back to the wild whenever possible. There are few words to describe the feeling you get when you are able to return a wild bird or animal to its natural environment after working so hard to bring it back to good health.
